Abbildungen: SFZU Gebäudeplanung Buidling planning Um diese Schutz-Klassifizie-rung „IP69k“ zu erhalten, müssen Panel-PCs einem 80°C heißen Wasserstrahl von 15 l pro Minute trotzen, der aus 10 cm Entfernung mit 100 bar Druck auf das Gehäuse zu-schießt. Die bislang eingesetz-ten Panel-PCs hatten jedoch nur den Schutzgrad IP65 und waren somit nur gegen Strahl-wasser geschützt. Um einer Hochdruckreinigung standzu-halten, hätten sie eigens mit zusätzlichen, individuell an-gepassten Gehäusen versehen werden müssen. Diese sind teuer. Deshalb hat das SFZU in den Food-PC von Penta in-vestiert. Denn der bringt den Hochdruckschutz frei Haus mit. EDV-Administrator Joel An-drade erklärt: „Bei unserem neuen Panel-PC-System kön-nen die Reinigungskräfte ohne spezifische Einweisung ihre Hochdruck- und Dampfstrahl- Geräte einsetzen. Die Penta- PCs können das verkraften!“ Er erklärt auch einen weiteren Vorteil der neuen Panel-PCs: „Bei den alten Systemen wa-ren neben den Displays auch die Anschlüsse neuralgische Punkte. Aber unsere neuen Penta-PCs sind sicher.“ Alle Anschlüsse wie USB, Ether-net oder serielle Schnittstel-len sind ebenfalls mit IP69k- Schutzgrad ausgestattet. Sie sind nach unten mit fest in-tegrierten 46 1/2014 Gehäusesteckern ausgeführt und mit robusten, exakt an die Kabel angepass-ten Schraubverbindern fix-iert. Falls es zu einer Störung kommt wäre ein Penta-PC in weniger als fünf Minuten von nur einem Mitarbeiter aus-tauschbar. Eine Besonderheit hierbei ist das geringe Eigen-gewicht des PCs und dass die Schraubverbindungen im Fal-le eines Austausches nicht ver-wechselt werden können. Handliche Bedienung Hohen Wert legt das SFZU auch auf intuitives Handling. Michael Palz: „Es ist wichtig, dass unsere Mitarbeiter die Geräte über Touchscreen be-dienen können. Das ist hygi-enischer und einfacher als mit Tastatur. Überzeugt hat mich deshalb insbesondere der Ein-bau des resistiven Touchdis-plays bei solch hohem Schutz-grad. Hinzu kommt noch die hohe Reinigungsmittelresis-tenz dank Hartbeschichtung.“ Kapazitive Touchscreens mit Glasfront lassen sich im Ge-gensatz zu resistiven nur ein-geschränkt mit Handschuhen bedienen. Zudem kann es in der feuchten Umgebung zu Ablagerungen von Flüssig-keiten und Kondensatbildung kommen. Diese erschweren bei kapazitiven Sensoren die Bedienung. This housing has all-round protection against dirt or dust ingress. It can also withstand high-pressure cleaning by hot water from a very close dis-tance. To be awarded an IP69k in-gress protection rating, panel PCs must be able to sustain a jet of hot water at 80°C and an output of 15 litres per minute shot at them from just 10 cm away and at 100 bar pressure. The panel PCs previously used only featured an IP65 rating, which meant that they were subjected to less intensive test conditions. To withstand high-pressure cleaning, they would have needed extra enclosures individual matched to them. These are expensive, so SFZU preferred to invest straight away in the Penta Food PCs. Because in contrast to compe-ting products, they come with a built-in high-pressure safe-guard. EDP administrator Joel And-rade explains: “Now that we have our new panel PC sys-tem, cleaning staff can get to work with their high-pressure and steam-cleaning appa-ratus without the need for any special instructions. The Penta PCs can take it!” Andrade points to a further ad-vantage of the new panel PCs: “In the old systems, beside the displays, the connections were sensitive points. But our new Penta PCs are safe and sure all round.” All their interfaces – such as USB, Ethernet and serial – are also IP69k-graded. They face downwards with firmly integrated connectors and ex-tremely robust screwed con-nectors matched exactly to the cables. If there were any malfunction, a Penta PC could be exchanged in less than five minutes by just one operator. This is aided, of course, by the low net weight of a PC and the unmistakeable coding of screw connections. Handy to work with SFZU very much emphasizes the need for intuitive ope-ration. “It’s important that our people should be able to operate PCs by using a touch screen,” says Michael Palz. “That’s more hygienic and simpler than by a keypad. So I was particularly impressed by integration of the resistive touch display for such a high IP rating.
