With a total slaughtering capacity of more than 3 million pigs per year, the market leadership in the European slaughtering sector is getting within reach. Die Gruppe Noordvlees Van Gool und die Gruppe Vanden Avenne, beides wichtige Unternehmen in ihrem Sektor, bündeln ihre Kräfte im Bereich „Schlachtkapazität“ zu einem Joint Venture. Mit einer totalen Schlachtkapazität von mehr als 3 Millionen Schweinen pro Jahr kommt die europäische Marktführung innerhalb der Schlachthofbranche in greifbare Nähe. Thanks to this new cooperation, the Bel-gian enterprises Noordvlees Van Gool and Vanden Avenne will be able to control the entire processing chain of pork much better. To this end, a new slaught-erhouse with a capacity of 40,000 pigs per week will be build in Övel in 2014, which will be managed by both enterprises in the form of a newly established company. The total investment of the new slaughterhouse amounts to e 20 million. Long-standing experience The group Noordvlees Van Gool slaugh-ters and sells pigs and processes and mar-kets waste products (red organs). Since its foundation in 1955 the family-run company Noordvlees Van Gool located in Kalmthout has become one of the leading Belgian slaughterhouses with a total slaughter ca-pacity of 1,250,000 pigs per year in Kalm-thout and a processing capacity of slaugh-ter waste of 40,000 t per year in Lochristi. The group Vanden Avenne on the other hand has been specialising in the produc-tion of compound feed for pigs, the cutting of pork and pig carcasses (BENS NV) and the selling of ham and cold cuts (BENS Retail NV). The history of the group Van-den Avenne dates back to the year 1889 and has always been geared to con- tinuous growth. Since the foundation four generations have been transforming the enterprise into one the biggest abattoirs in Belgium, with compound feed factories in Ooigem and Floreffe and a total output of 540,000 t of animal feed per year. The present cooperation in the form of a Joint Venture enables both companies to establish themselves as important play-ers in the Belgian slaughterhouse sector Dank der neuen Zusammenarbeit wer-den die belgischen Unternehmen Noordvlees Van Gool und Vanden Avenne gemeinsam den gesamten Pro-duktionsprozess für Schweinefleisch noch besser kontrollieren. Hierfür wird ab Mitte 2014 in Oevel ein neuer Schlachthof mit einer Schlachtkapazität von 40.000 Schwei-nen pro Woche gebaut und von beiden Un-ternehmen über ein neues Unternehmen betrieben. Die Gesamtinvestition des neuen Schlachthofs beläuft sich auf 20 Mio. €. Die europäische Marktführung in der Schlacht-hofbranche kommt dank dieses Joint Ven-tures in greifbare Nähe. Langjährige Erfahrung Die Gruppe Noordvlees Van Gool schlach-tet und vermarktet Schweine und verwertet und vermarktet Abfall (rote Organe). Seit der Gründung im Jahr 1955 entwickelte sich das Familienunternehmen Noordvlees Van Gool mit Sitz in Kalmthout zu einem der führenden belgischen Schlachthöfe mit einer Gesamtschlachtkapazität von 1,25 Mio. Schweinen pro Jahr und einer Verar-beitungskapazität von Schlachtabfällen von 40.000 t pro Jahr in Lochristi. Die Gruppe Vanden Avenne wiederum ist auf die Produktion von Mischfutter für Schweine, das Zerlegen von Schweine- Kräfte fleisch und Schweinekarkassen (BENS NV) und die Vermarktung von Schinken und Aufschnitt (BENS Retail NV) spezia-lisiert. Die Zusammenarbeit in Form eines Joint Ventures ermöglicht beiden Unter-nehmen als wichtige Akteure ihres Sek-tors sich von der belgischen Schlachthof-branche abzuheben und zu den führenden europäischen Schlachthofunternehmen zu zählen. Neben einem weiteren Wachstum können beide Unternehmen dank des Joint Ven-tures auch den gesamten Produktionspro-zess von A bis Z kontrollieren. „Auch auf dem Gebiet der Qualität und Kontrolle schafft diese Zusammenarbeit einen gro-ßen Mehrwert“, erklärt Marcel Laeremans, CEO von Bens Vlees, Teil der Gruppe Vanden Avenne. „Das stimmt“, meint Dirk Nelen, CEO Groep Noordvlees Van Gool. „So kann z. B. unser Tochterunterneh-men BGMC, das auf die Verwertung roter Organe, die Verarbeitung von Schlacht-abfall und die Herauslösung der Knochen aus Schweineköpfen spezialisiert ist, diese Rohstoffe ab Mitte 2015 direkt von dem neuen Schlachthof abnehmen. Da es sich dann um Lieferungen innerhalb des eige-nen Konzerns handelt, kontrollieren wir die Produktion von A bis Z und können jederzeit Qualitätskontrollen durchführen.
