Driver and fleet management Against the background of rising costs (fuel, toll etc.), driver and fleet management becomes a very important cost factor. Companies have to plan deadlines very accurately, they have to monitor tours, deploy vehicles and drivers efficiently and have to calculate the costs quickly. Filter functions can help in finding the desired vehicle. Idle tractor units and the location of trailers can be quickly identified in this way. Aids such as forklifts, taillifts or scanners are associated to individual transport aids. Dispatchers profit from fleet manage-ment V. Lückemeier and schedule administration. Combined with a personnel planning software, driver specific data can be evaluated immediately. Balancing by means of DMS and Fibu connection Automated processes in the transport management system simplify the preparation and handling of incoming and outgoing orders. Orders that are not transport-related are considered as special expenses. Via a document management system, all order docu-ments can be stored at one location and archived electronically. In this way companies can operate in a sustainable way and reduce their paper costs significantly. The import and export of table rates from and to Excel can also be easily done. Open interfaces connecting exter-nal accounting systems make date exchanges smoother. Statistical analysis Detailed statistics of customer specific turnover or expenses as well as order and trip ana-lysis of each vehicle ensure transparency of all processes. Integrated into the transport manage-ment software, this feature allows the user to monitor all trips and uncover optimisation potentials. The companies determine customer-specific criteria and can access graphics or key figures e.g. about the cost development of extra fees for the transport of dangerous goods, information regard-ing individual freight payers or quarterly margins. Optimisation of delivery tours and shipping spaces Users can identify efficient tours by using transport or service orders accessed via a fully automatic planning software. Companies profit from the shortest possible street connections between customer location, produc-tion site and warehouse. Trip-specific efficiency evaluations for both own and external vehicles, can be calculated by analysing global transport costs based on street kilometres. Flawless loading of the transport units can be ensured by means of a loading optimising system integrated in the transport management software. Capacities can be planned pro-actively and warehouse locations or distrib-ution hubs can be supplied more efficiently. Simulation and analysis tools optimise the operative utilisation of shipping units and storage capacities. Web integration A constant communication across locations requires a peripheral access to the dispatch system via a web connection. A multi-level safety system ensures that the user can access the data according to his access rights. Further application options include the integration of online order reports, document management and track and trace systems. Scanners, interfaces and data exchange The range of functions of an efficient transport management system is completed by its ability to commu-nicate with external systems. Only a variety of interfaces makes it possible to integrate different system services. By supporting diverse formats such as Edifact, VDA or files, data bases or XML-structures, users profit from a flexible transport management system for customer-specific requirements.
