Flexible production concepts offer multiple benefits: Indi-vidual production units can be easily modified. Material flows can be streamlined and made more efficient. It's also ea- sier to ensure quality controls, compliance with tolerances and uniform products. Higher payloads can be handled and changeovers and modifications can be done more quickly. Ad-ditionally, it's easier to keep track of production data and the processes are less prone to errors and interruptions such as contaminations caused by human interaction.
